Last week we also learnt what the word waterproof meant and used our investigation skills to search for other waterproof materials in the classroom.
First, we looked very closely at the materials to see if we could find any holes or any other reasons they might let the water through. Then we wrote down our predictions.
Finally, we tested the materials by pouring water over them. If the cotton wool in the cup got wet, then the water passed through the materials and this meant the material was not waterproof.
We then talked about why it was important for a tent to be waterproof. What do you think we came up with?
