Year 1R had a fantastic day yesterday at the Air Force Museum. We were there as part of our topic From A to B. In school the day before, the students had to use Google maps to plot our journey, they worked out how long it would take by public transport, by car or bus and by walking. We decided together that taking a mini-bus would be the best option!
One of our favourite parts was sitting in the cockpit of an old air force people carrier. It was quite a climb into the cockpit and there were a lot of buttons, dials and levers. You have to have a good memory and learn a lot of things if you want to be a pilot! We also saw the cables attached in the back that the soldiers used to parachute out of the plane from. We imagined we were doing it as we exited the plane. It would have been a little bit scary!
Below is a selection of our favourite photos. We saw so many different planes and learnt how they have changed over time. We also got a chance to colour in a F-16 fighter jet.
